The message sounds simple and attractive: just use AI, run a scan, apply the suggested patch, and your system is secure.
At first glance, this appears to be progress. Artificial intelligence is improving many areas of software development. It can analyze code quickly, detect common mistakes, and suggest improvements within seconds. For companies that want to save time and reduce costs, this promise is appealing. Why invest in external expertise if a tool can review your code in minutes?
However, cybersecurity is not only about code. It is about understanding how systems interact, how risks affect business operations, and how decisions influence long-term stability. A company is not just a collection of functions and files; it is a complex network of people, processes, technologies, and strategic priorities.
I use AI tools myself and recognize their value. They can support analysis and increase efficiency. What concerns me, however, is the simplified narrative that AI can fully replace professional judgment.
